Edging For Lawnscaping
Edging is an important aspect of “lawnscaping”, aka lawn landscaping that helps to define and maintain the borders of your lawn, flower beds, and other landscaped areas. Proper edging not only enhances the visual appeal of your landscape, but also serves functional purposes: such as preventing grass from encroaching into flower beds, keeping your lawn neatly contained, and giving you a nice, visual aesthetically pleasing “clean line” between your rock bed and your lawn. It keeps your mulch, rock, and flowers in, and your grass out.
Here are some tips to achieve beautiful edging when lawnscaping:

Plan your edging design:

Make sure to have a plan before you begin. Mark your curves or angles accurately before beginning to install your edging.
To further enhance the appearance of your lawn edges, you can add mulch or rock within the flower bed or around your trees and/or mailbox. This will create a clear visual contrast between the lawn and landscapes areas.
Execute your project well:

Generally, the material should be buried deep enough to hold firmly in place. The correct depth will also prevent grass or weeds from growing under or through your edging.
Use a lawn edger – a specialized tool designed to create clean and precise edges along your lawn. A lawn edger is more efficient and effective than a standard shovel or spade.
Keep safety in mind. When using power tools and equipment, be sure to follow safety guidelines and wear appropriate protective gear according to the user’s manual.
Don’t cut corners, figuratively ha. Do it well the first time so you can perform maintenance, not repairs.
Maintain Regularly.
Regular maintenance is the keep to keeping your lawn’s edges looking crisp. Trim any grass or weeds that try to encroach on the edging. Remove any dirt or debris. Some types of edging may require additional occasional cleaning or maintenance.
