Elite 6-Step Fertilization Program
Homeowners have become much more conscientious over the years on how to maintain their lawn in the Midwest. Not only does this include an established mowing schedule dictated by your lawn, but it is also a combination of aerating, watering, weeding, and an incredible fertilization program.
Our intent at JB’s Landscape and Lawn Care is to provide an all-inclusive program that is tried and true for our region of the world that provides the correct nutrients and their respective quantities to fight off fungus and weeds, grow to its fullest capabilities, and ensure that you have a healthy and beautiful lawn all season long.
Why is an all encompassing fertilizer program beneficial?
It provides a healthier turf resulting in a greener lawn.
Improved soil composition, resulting in increased retention of moisture and nutrients allowing for a stronger and more resilient lawn.
Timely fertilization programs decrease the need for watering, (i.e. lesser costs in your watering bills!!)
Reduce weed growth, which in turn decreases your reliability on herbicides and other chemicals.
A healthy lawn can increase the curb appeal of your home.
Protection of the environment, due to less water and chemical consumption.
Increased lawn health reduces the risk of insect infestations and other pests.
Reduction of disease and other lawn issues.

What’s in each of the steps?
Pre-Emergent Step: (March-April)
A pre-emergent is a slow-release fertilizer with a crabgrass preventer, targeted to control weed growth before the germination process begins. In specific locations with clusters of weeds growing, it is recommended to spot spray at the same time. This step will enhance the color of your turf while controlling grassy weeds.Contains: 17-3.5 25% PCSCU and .08% Dimension
Pre-Emergent Step Two: (Mid-May)
Once the initial pre-emergent has been applied for 8-10 weeks, we will apply a 2nd round of pre-emergent. Again, this application will act as a slow-release fertilizer and crabgrass preventer. This will carry us into the summer months and will reveal any fungus related or brown patches within your lawn.
Contains: 17-3.5 25% PCSCU and .08 Dimension
Grub Control Step: (Late June/Early July)
Getting into the warmer months, it is time for our Grub Control application. This is a combination of a slow-release fertilizer, along with an all-season, anti-grub and larvae program. We will also continue to spot spray for the troublesome weeds.
Contains: 15-0-0 with 20% PCSCU and .20% Merit
Summer Fertilizer Step: (Mid August)
This step allows your turf to shine with prosperous health and color. Due to the heat of the season and on-going watering, this step ensures that your turf will remain vigilant and strong.
Contains: 18-3-9 with 30% UFLEXX and 2% Iron Oxide
Fall Fertilizer Step: (Sept-Oct)
Our Fall Fertilizer step is intended to allow your turf to recover from the summer heat and stress. Fertilization promotes strong, deep root growth, which in turn helps withstand pests, disease, and extreme weather. It also allows your lawn to recover from damage and encourages new growth, which in turn provides you with a green and lush lawn.
Contains: 18-3-9 with 30% UFLEXX and 2% Iron Oxide
Winterizer Step: (November)
Winterizer promotes root growth during the winter and early spring months. An easy step to overlook, JB’s Landscape and Lawn Care has you covered during the winter months with the intent that you will start the spring off on the correct lawn maintenance foot!
Contains: 30-0-15 blended as 55% UREA + 45% Ammonium Sulfate
